Artwork created by this Birmingham, MI homeowner helped to inspire a kitchen and eat-in sunroom that is fresh, clean and airy for her entire family. Upon entering the space, the eye is immediately drawn to the vintage mosaic tile backsplash which embodies the homeowner’s unique personality. Stainless steel appliances and custom white cabinetry balance the elegance of the natural Calcutta Quartzite countertops. They are in perfect contrast to the walls of bright turquoise glass tile and dark stained hardwood floors.

Hidden gems can be found throughout the space: concealed behind swinging cabinet doors is an existing walk-in pantry, reconfigured with an abundance of storage. Artwork displayed on custom rough-hewn wood shelves lends a more playful element to the space. A large boating oar hangs along the tall wall, adorned with intricate mosaic art. Completed in 2016, the entire space evokes feelings of harmony and tranquility. This space truly defines what functionality and beauty look like.
